Basketball Panthers now 12-3 with 97-73 win over Dalhousie

The UPEI Panthers defeated the Dalhousie Tiger Saturday night 97-73 in front of a large and noisy crowd.

Dalhousie lead after the first quarter 25-21 but that would be short lived as the Panthers outscored the Tigers 32-10 in the second and lead 53-35 at the half. Dalhousie came strong again in the third quarter 30-28 but the Panthers  replied in the fourth 16-8 and finished 97-73. 

Ritchie Kanza Mata was the leading scorer for the Tigers with 18 points followed by William Yengue’s 17 points. For the Panthers leading the charge was Donathan Moss netting 23 points and 13 rebounds, for his efforts he was named Subway player of the game. Jonathan Cooper added 20 points along with 10 assists.

The Panthers improve to 12-3, and are in first of the AUS with  32 points with Acadia in second, 6 points behind . UPEI are on the road next weekend to face the Capers Saturday and the X-Men Sunday.
