Axemen sneak past Panthers 85-82

The Acadia Axemen scored a 3 point shot with only 5 seconds left on the clock and went on to defeat the Panthers 85-82 Saturday afternoon in Wolfville.

The Panthers and Axemen see-sawed back and forth all game; the first quarter battle was won by Acadia 18-11, the second quarter the Panthers took 23-14 and a 34-32 lead at the half.  Acadia was able to tie the game by the end of 3rd 58-58 and won the game in dramatic form winning 85-82.

Game high scorer was Donathan Moss the UPEI Panthers netting 29 points and 10 rebounds.  For Acadia Anthony Ashe poured in 21.

The Panthers will play their last regular season game at home on Saturday night when they host Cape Breton and will celebrate two graduating players, Manock Lual and Jonathan Cooper at the end of the women’s game. The Guardian.
