Rebecca Pointon scored for SMU on a deflection off a penalty corner with just over five minutes remaining. After a heartbreaking loss in the championship game last season, the UPEI women’s field hockey team begins their season in Halifax this weekend with unfinished business.

The UPEI women’s Field Hockey Team were in Montreal for the weekend for a tournament at McGill but the weather allowed play on Saturday only. The Panthers played two excellent games on Saturday, losing both to Western 1-0 and to McGill 1-0. The UPEI team had a number of scoring changes in each game. The young UPEI team impressed both Western and McGill coaching staff.

UPEI Field Hockey coaches are  busy preparing for the up coming season with 20 plus players planning to participate in  training camp.
