Wave Athletes of the week ending Oct. 30 - O'Donnell & Parks

The week of October 30, 2011 The Wave UPEI  Athletes of the week are both from hockey, Kelsey O'Donnell and Mavric Parks.

Women's Athlete
This week’s Wave Female Athlete of the week is women’s hockey assistant captain Kelsey O’Donnell.  She is a fifth year business student from Souris, PE. On  the weekend O’Donnell scored two goals and tow assists in the Panthers Sunday afternoon game vs. St. Thomas which they won 7-2 and improved their record to 2-3.  Currently O’Donnell is first for points in the AUS and 10th in the CIS. The Panthers are on the road this weekend for a single game vs. Dalhousie Saturday night 7 pm.  
Men's Athlete
  Mavric Parks, rookie goalie for the UPEI men’s hockey team is this week’s Wave Male Athlete of the Week.  The Panthers this weekend with two wins moved into a 3rd place tie of the AUS and Parks was a key part of the wins.  Friday night he made 20 saves vs. the Dalhousie Tigers and Saturday night vs. the #3 CIS ranked Acadia Axemen, 35saves for the 5-3 win.   He is currently 3rd in the AUS for goals against average at 2.94. Parks is a first year arts student from Eganville, ON.
