UPEI Wave Athletes of the Week for the week ending September 26, 2010 are Chanelle Roy from women’s soccer and Matt Carter from Men’s Hockey

Women's Athlete
Third year soccer goalie Chanelle Roy, a science student from Bathurst, New Brunswick is this week’s female Wave Athlete of the Week.  On the weekend she recorded two more shutouts for the Panthers to now notch five shutouts total for the year and only one goal in six games. The Panthers defeated UNB Friday night 1-0 and Saturday tied Dalhousie 0-0.  The Panthers sit top of the leader board in the AUS with a 4-0-2 record.  The Panthers are on the road this weekend to face Mount Allison on Saturday at 2pm and then to the valley for a 1pm Sunday match up.
Men's Athlete
This week’s Male Athlete of the Week is hockey forward Matthew Carter.  He was named an all star at the UNB tournament this past weekend after netting three goals and an assist in the Panthers 6-4 lost to SMU and 6-5 overtime win vs. Guelph.  Carter is a third year business student from Mississauga, Ontario. The hockey Panthers are playing in Summerside on Saturday night when they host Saint Mary at 7:00pm.
