The Wave Athlete of the week - ending October 25, 2009

Wave athletes of the week are Kelsey O'Donnell from Women's Hockey and Jared Murphy from Men's Soccer.

Women's Athlete
Kelsey O’Donnell, third year business student from Souris, PEI is this weeks’ Wave  Female Athlete of the Week.  O’Donnell was the backbone of the Panthers win on Sunday over St. Thomas as she earned a point on all three goals. She netted two herself with assists  from Jaime Lynn Donaldson and Janelle MacKenzie and she assisted on the goal from Amber Gaudette. The Panthers are on  their best start as they won on Friday night, 3-2 over Mount Allison and now sit at 2-1.   
Men's Athlete
The Wave Male Athlete of the Week is from Men’s Soccer and it is first year business student, Jared Murphy.  Murphy had a break out night vs. the Mount Allison Mounties and scored three of the five goals.  Jared scored his first-ever goals as a Panther at the third-, 13th- and 46th-minute marks.  The Panthers are currently in second place and head to Halifax this weekend to play Dalhousie and St. Mary’s in the last league games of the season.
